Cipher Detective ("the App", "we", "our") is a single-player word and cipher puzzle game. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is stored, and your choices regarding it. The App does not require an account, sign-in, or internet connection to be played.
The App itself does not collect, transmit, or sell any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise location). We do not operate any backend server that the App communicates with, and we do not use any analytics software development kit (SDK) inside the App.
To let you resume where you left off, the App saves a small amount of data locally on your own device only, using standard local storage (never uploaded anywhere):
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes this data. We have no way to access, recover, or view it, because it never leaves your device.
The App shows ads (interstitial and optional rewarded video ads) served through Google AdMob. Rewarded ads are always opt-in — you choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward, and nothing plays automatically.
Google AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process data such as your advertising identifier, IP address, and general device information, in order to serve and measure ads, and (where permitted) personalize them. This processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and, for the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland, by a consent mechanism shown before any personalized ads are served. You can manage ad personalization for your device at any time via your device's ad settings (Google Account › Data & Privacy).
The App requests network access solely to load ads (see above). It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, precise location, storage beyond its own app data, or any other sensitive device permission.
Cipher Detective is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If advertising is enabled in a region or for an audience where child-directed treatment applies, ad requests will be marked accordingly so that AdMob serves only non-personalized, child-appropriate ads as required by applicable law (e.g. COPPA).
Because gameplay data is stored only locally on your device and the App has no backend server of its own, there is no central database of player data that could be breached by us. Any data processed by third-party ad services is secured under their own respective security practices, linked above.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when advertising is enabled or if new features change what data the App handles. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
